We Are Officially a Charity — A Milestone That Comes with Mission, Responsibility, and Purpose

Are we still dreaming? What a monumental moment to share — Infinite Wave Foundation is now a registered Canadian charity.

It’s a milestone that still feels surreal to say out loud, let alone type into a sentence.

On February 6, 2025, we received our official letter of charitable registration from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA). While we’ve been operating as a nonprofit since our founding in August 2023, this new designation is more than just a tax status — it’s a recognition of trust, compliance, and capacity to steward impact at a national level.

This was no small feat. Becoming a registered charity in Canada is an intense process — one that many nonprofits work on for years and still don’t attain. And while we are deeply grateful to be where we are, we also know this is just the beginning of a new chapter with even greater responsibility.

The Timeline: Our Journey to Charity Status

Our story is rooted in intention, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to community.

  • August 19, 2023: Infinite Wave Foundation (IWF) was founded as a nonprofit society with a vision to shift generational cycles through healing, leadership, and systemic change.

  • November 2023: We began drafting our charity application, knowing full well the rigor it would require.

  • January 2024: We submitted our application to the CRA — not knowing how long it would take or what would unfold.

  • Throughout 2024: We engaged in back-and-forth correspondence with the CRA, clarifying documents, restructuring statements, and ensuring full alignment with charitable requirements.

  • January 21, 2025: We submitted our final revised package.

  • February 6, 2025: We were officially granted charity status.

This process taught us that excellence requires precision, and impact must be paired with accountability. Every form, phrase, and framework had to be crafted in accordance with the law — and still remain true to who we are.

What It Means to Be a Charity

Becoming a charity does not just give us access to new opportunities — it calls us into a higher level of service.

We now operate under direct oversight from the CRA, with new reporting obligations and a commitment to complete transparency. Our fiscal year end is September 30, and our Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be held every year within 30 days of our nonprofit incorporation date — meaning between July 19 and September 19, in alignment with our August 19 anniversary.

We are required to adhere to our bylaws and constitution, uphold our charitable objectives, and maintain CRA compliance in everything we do — from fundraising to program delivery to governance.

We were not handed a handbook — we were given links. We were given expectations. We were given trust. And we intend to rise to that responsibility.

Why We’re Sharing This

We’ve been getting questions — and understandably so.

“How did you get your charity status so fast?”

“Is it true you’re now a real charity?”

“Can you show us how you did it?”

Let us first say: we understand the curiosity. In a world full of red tape and closed doors, seeing someone rise quickly can trigger both inspiration and skepticism. We welcome healthy curiosity, and we are always happy to collaborate with organizations, visionaries, and partners who are aligned in mission and spirit.

But let us also say this with love: we do not entertain requests that are transactional, opportunistic, or rooted in lack.

If you are here simply to take — without a willingness to build something that benefits others — we kindly wish you well, but we are not the ones for you. We protect our energy. We protect our process. We protect the work, the people, and the purpose we’ve been entrusted with.

However, if you come with sincerity, with alignment, with a heart to build and not just benefit — we will gladly share our journey. We believe in building strategic alliances, not extracting formulas. We believe in capacity building, not gatekeeping — but also not weakening others by handing out what must be earned.

Strategic Partnerships — Let’s Build Together

We are open to forming authentic collaborations that align with our values, vision, and impact model. If you are a fellow organization, funder, academic, community builder, or systems thinker — let’s explore what’s possible.

To begin this process, please fill out our Strategic Partnership Alignment Form here:

This helps us understand who you are, what you’re building, and how we might weave our missions together.

Governance and Growth — A Work in Progress

We are still growing. We are still building.

Governance, like impact, is not static — it’s a living, breathing ecosystem. We are currently revisiting our internal frameworks, strengthening our financial oversight, and building a board of directors that is not just legally compliant but also spiritually and strategically aligned.

We don’t pretend to be perfect. But we do promise to be accountable, transparent, and committed to doing what’s right — even when it’s not easy. Our mission to create sustainable systems of change, healing, and empowerment is not just an aspiration — it’s our compass.

What’s Next for IWF

As a registered charity, we are now eligible to:

  • Issue official donation receipts for tax purposes

  • Access government and philanthropic grants exclusive to charities

  • Deepen our impact through broader community partnerships

  • Scale our programs across Canada and beyond

But most importantly, we can now do so with the full legal and ethical backing of Canada’s charitable system — meaning more trust, more support, and more reach.

In 2025, we are expanding several of our core initiatives:

  • Cultivate Our Youth – Financial literacy and entrepreneurial empowerment for youth

  • Meals Movement – Nutritional equity and food security programming

    Late 2025:

  • Healing-Centered Leadership – Trauma-informed leadership capacity building

  • Emergency Relief & Restoration – Practical support for crisis-impacted families

  • And more to come.

We will share updates frequently and welcome you to follow our journey on social media and our official website.

In Closing: We Are Not Just a Charity — We Are a Movement

Becoming a charity doesn’t define us — it affirms what we’ve always been: a community-centered movement rooted in healing, equity, and leadership.

This status gives us the structure to carry out our purpose at scale — but the heart of IWF will always remain human. It will always beat in the stories we hear, the lives we serve, the partnerships we build, and the ripple effects of everything we co-create.

We are here to ignite impact, not just check boxes. And if you feel that fire in your spirit, then you already know — we’re building something extraordinary.

With gratitude,

The Infinite Wave Foundation Team

Why Transparency Matters: The Integrity Behind Infinite Wave Foundation

At Infinite Wave Foundation, transparency isn’t just a policy — it’s a promise. It’s the way we honour the trust people place in us. It’s the way we operate behind closed doors when no one is watching. And it’s the way we ensure that every dollar, every decision, and every program is rooted in service, accountability, and truth. We are a registered public charity. That status isn’t just a title — it comes with serious responsibilities, strict regulations, and zero tolerance for misuse. We are governed by law, guided by strong ethical values, and driven by our commitment to creating real change. But more importantly, we want our community to know that we are people of integrity, and that Infinite Wave Foundation is built with systems, soul, and structure that protect the mission — and those we serve. In this blog, we’re pulling back the curtain and walking you through exactly what that looks like — so you can feel confident that your support, partnership, and belief in us are well-place...

Two Years of Ripples: How Infinite Wave Foundation is Rising and Lifting Others

On August 19, 2023, Infinite Wave Foundation began with nothing more than a vision, a fierce determination, and an unshakable belief in the ripple effect — that one act of care can create waves of change that reach far beyond what we see. Two years later, as we stand on this anniversary, we look back with awe. Not because our journey has been easy — it hasn’t. We have walked through challenges, setbacks, and the uncertainty of building something from scratch without guidance or a safety net. But every obstacle has been met with grit, faith, and an unwavering commitment to serve. In just twenty-four months, we’ve… Expanded our  Meals Movement , serving nearly 2,000 meals to those in need. Achieved  charitable status  — a milestone that many nonprofits wait years for. We are often asked, “How did you do it so quickly?” The truth? Reflecting on 2025: A Year of Impact, Growth & Grace

As we approach the end of the year, we’ve taken time to reflect on the journey Infinite Wave Foundation traveled in 2025, and it has been nothing short of extraordinary. This year stretched us, strengthened us, and expanded our understanding of what is possible when a community comes together with purpose. From serving thousands of meals and empowering youth with financial literacy, to welcoming new directors who bring depth and expertise to our governance and leadership, to receiving major recognition from organizations far beyond our borders, 2025 was a year filled with powerful waves of progress. But behind every milestone was something deeper: the heart and resilience of our volunteers, donors, supporters, and community collaborators. Many believed in us before we had titles, awards, or national visibility. Many stood by us through uncertainty, challenges, and growth. And many continue to support us because they see the long-term vision of creating stronger, more resilient com...
