In the heart of every community are families who rise each day facing the quiet, painful challenge of food insecurity. It’s not always visible—but it’s there. Behind closed doors and in low-income housing units, single parents stretch thin paychecks, children go to bed without dinner, and seniors ration what little they have left. At Infinite Wave Foundation, we see these stories. We feel them. And we respond not with pity, but with purpose.
One of the most powerful ways we respond is through our MEALS MOVEMENT—a community-driven initiative designed to combat food insecurity with compassion, dignity, and practical support. This isn’t just about food. It’s about restoring hope and ensuring that no family in our reach is left behind.
Another Generous Gift That Fueled A Wave of Giving
Our foundation was blessed to receive another incredibly generous donation: 600 kilograms of liver spread from Freybe Gourmet Foods Ltd. (FG Deli Group)—a respected Canadian deli company known for quality, community, and generosity. When we first heard the amount, our hearts were overwhelmed—not by the quantity, but by the possibilities.
Immediately, we asked ourselves,
“How can we get this food into the hands of those who need it most—quickly, respectfully, and equitably?”
And then the movement began.
From Warehouse to Warm Homes: Mobilizing the Movement
We quickly mobilized our team and reached out to our network of families living in low-income housing across the Lower Mainland. These were families we already knew—parents working multiple jobs, newcomers navigating life in a new country, elders on fixed incomes, and community members doing their best just to survive.
We personally delivered liver spread donations directly to these homes. With every box came more than food—it came with care, dignity, and a reminder that someone out there sees and values them. The gratitude we received in return was deeply humbling.
“The food donations my family & I have received from Renardo & Jamie’s organization have been so helpful to my family. As a low-income single mom, it’s getting increasingly difficult to feed my children, and the food donations from their organization are so helpful. I am very thankful and appreciate them so much. Thank you!”
This message was one of many that reminded us exactly why the MEALS MOVEMENT exists.
We believe food is a human right, not a privilege. And dignity is not something we offer—it is something we protect.
No Waste. Just Purpose.
Even after supplying our network of families, we still had a significant surplus of liver spread remaining. We knew immediately that letting any of it go to waste was not an option. That’s not how we operate.
So we extended the circle of impact. We reached out to one of Vancouver’s most trusted and respected food distribution organizations—CityReach Care Society. Their food bank serves thousands of residents across the city, and their mission aligns beautifully with ours: to provide healthy food and holistic support with care and consistency.
We donated the remaining liver spread to CityReach, ensuring that not a single gram of food would go unused. In their hands, this donation reached even more households, further expanding the ripple effect of compassion.
Through this partnership, our donation continued to feed families we may never meet—but whose lives we were still able to touch.
The Story Behind the MEALS MOVEMENT
The MEALS MOVEMENT was born out of a simple belief: food can change lives.
We launched this initiative to:
- Address the rising rates of food insecurity in underserved communities.
- Create a rapid-response model for food donations and emergency hunger relief.
- Build bridges between food suppliers and families in need.
- Reduce food waste by redistributing surplus goods to the right places at the right time.
What makes MEALS MOVEMENT different is the human-first approach. We don’t just distribute food—we connect. We learn people’s names. We learn their stories. We meet them where they are—whether in apartment hallways, church basements, or street corners. Every delivery is a chance to restore dignity.
Why Liver Spread?
For many Filipino, Latin American, and Caribbean households, liver spread is not just a pantry item—it’s a cultural staple. It’s versatile, packed with nutrients, and can turn a few simple ingredients into a hearty, flavorful meal.
This reminded us that food isn’t just sustenance—it’s connection. It’s comfort. It’s culture.
The Bigger Picture: What This Means for Our Community
What we experienced through this donation was more than distribution logistics. It was the power of collective action—a demonstration of what’s possible when organizations, donors, and volunteers come together for a shared purpose.
From the moment we said yes to FG Deli for the donation…
To the community outreach, delivery, and surplus redistribution…
To the feedback we received from mothers, elders, and youth…
Every step in this process reaffirmed why Infinite Wave Foundation exists.
It’s in moments like these that we are reminded: When we feed the body, we fuel the soul.
How We Do It: Our Approach to Food Justice
Here’s how the MEALS MOVEMENT ensures high-impact results every time:
1. Needs-Based Targeting
We prioritize families living in transitional housing, low-income units, or experiencing financial hardship. By working with local housing communities, schools, and caseworkers, we ensure donations reach the most vulnerable.
2. Respectful Distribution
We never “drop and go.” Our team speaks with families, learns about dietary needs, and ensures that every recipient understands how to use what they’ve received.
3. Sustainability Partnerships
By aligning with food producers, distributors, and food banks like CityReach, we reduce waste and extend the shelf-life and reach of every donation.
4. Cultural Sensitivity
We consider the cultural preferences of families to ensure that the food we distribute is not only useful but appreciated and understood.
5. Dignity First
Everything we do—from packaging to delivery—is done with dignity in mind. No family should ever feel “less than” for receiving help.
What’s Next for the MEALS MOVEMENT?
This is only the beginning. The 600kg liver spread donation was a powerful chapter—but the story of the MEALS MOVEMENT is still being written.
We are currently:
- Exploring partnerships with local grocers and farms to source fresh produce.
- Developing a community kitchen model to offer hot meals in key neighborhoods.
- Creating volunteer opportunities for youth and newcomers to participate in food distribution efforts.
- Seeking funding and infrastructure to scale our delivery model and storage capacity.
And most importantly—we’re listening. Listening to the needs of our community. Listening to their stories. Listening to what’s missing.
Because solutions are only effective when they’re rooted in the real lives of real people.
Gratitude That Goes Beyond Words
We want to thank Freybe’s FG Deli Group for their generosity and for believing in our mission. It’s partnerships like this that restore our faith in what’s possible when corporate social responsibility meets grassroots passion.
To CityReach, thank you for extending the circle of care.
To the families who trusted us to knock on your door—we see you. We honor you. You are the reason we exist.
And to our team of volunteers, supporters, and community leaders—thank you for being the hands and hearts behind this movement.
Join the Movement
If you’ve ever asked, “How can I help?”, here are three simple ways:
Together, we can transform hunger into hope—one meal at a time.
The MEALS MOVEMENT is more than a program. It’s a promise.
A promise that no one in our community will be forgotten.
A promise that food can be a bridge to belonging.
And a promise that, as long as Infinite Wave Foundation stands, we will never stop rising for those in need.
