Sometimes, the most impactful connections aren’t planned — they’re placed in our path.
It was during one of our very first Cultivate Our Youth Financial Literacy sessions that Rebeca, the Community Services Coordinator for New Chelsea Society (NCS), happened to walk in and see our program in action. By chance… or so it seemed.
We call it a divine appointment.
The moment we sat down, the conversation flowed effortlessly. The vibe was unmistakable — alignment. Purpose. A shared vision for uplifting communities. Within minutes, we both knew: this was the start of something bigger than either of us could have planned.
New Chelsea Society is more than an affordable housing provider. Their motto, “Housing with Heart”, isn’t just a slogan — it’s a way of life. From leadership to frontline staff, their team radiates compassion in action. They don’t just give families a roof over their heads; they create places where people can grow, connect, and belong.

| NCS x IWF Community BBQ Collaboration |
Our first collaboration happened on July 25, 2025, at New Chelsea Crossing, where NCS hosted a community BBQ. This day wasn’t just about food — it was about presence. It was about showing residents, in the middle of life’s busyness, that they matter enough for everyone to pause, gather, and celebrate together.
And it wasn’t hard to see why this community works. Even before our partnership, New Chelsea Crossing was living out the “housing with heart” spirit every day. Neighbors looking out for each other. A safe space where people feel like they belong. Their community garden is a perfect example — a place where connection, collaboration, and care grow alongside the plants.
During this partnership, we also visited another NCS location — one of their most vulnerable communities. The moment we arrived, we were welcomed like old friends. We walked the grounds and discovered another community garden, lovingly maintained by residents, with a butterfly sculpture at its heart. This wasn’t just a garden for food — it was a living symbol of pride, unity, and hope.
The people here don’t let challenges define them. They rise above, with resilience and determination. Sometimes, all they need is a helping hand, a new opportunity, or a partner who believes in them.
That’s why our collaboration is growing. Together, we’ll bring our Cultivate Our Youth Financial Literacy Program into one of NCS’s most vulnerable locations — and we’ll design a financial literacy program for seniors that truly honors their value, wisdom, and life experience.
Our partnership doesn’t stop there. We’re teaming up for future events, including with Ray-Cam Community Centre for their August 13 and September 26 basketball tournaments. These aren’t just sports days — they’re opportunities for communities to connect, build trust, and strengthen bonds.
Because here’s the truth: connecting with the most vulnerable is not easy. It requires more than programs and good intentions. It demands no judgment, no biases, no condemnation. Trust must be earned — and it’s earned through consistent, genuine care without conditions. As the saying goes, “People don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.”
This collaboration is more than a partnership. It’s the merging of two missions — one providing homes with heart, the other creating ripples of change through empowerment, education, and care. Together, we’re addressing urgent needs while planting seeds for lasting transformation.
And we believe this is just the beginning. As Infinite Wave Foundation and New Chelsea Society work side by side, we’re building a model of community collaboration that proves one thing: when hearts align, impact multiplies.
